-
A catastrophic threat to the school is happening (overwhelming fire, gas leak, bomb threat, etc.)
-
After a lockdown emergency law enforcement needs to turn the campus into a crime scene and chooses to evacuate all students off campus.
Off Campus Evacuation Protocol:
-
If an emergency happens, the school in conjunction with the district office and community safety officials (Fire, Law Enforcement) will make the decision to evacuate the school.
-
Law Enforcement will shut down Harvard Way and all public access to Oak Ridge High School.
-
Classrooms will be released one at a time (if the emergency allows) to evacuate to the CSD park across the street. Each classroom has been assigned to a zone at the CSD.
-
Law Enforcement and Fire know to set up a Medical Triage center with our health personnel at the CSD in case of medical emergencies.
-
As soon as possible an emergency phone call will go out to parents notifying them of the situation. This phone call will notify you of when, how and if you will need to pick up your student.
-
When (and if) parents are asked to pick up their students at the CSD, parents will use this procedure:
-
First, remember to stay calm. Your student will be safe and well taken care of. We will have water and food available if necessary. Your student needs you to get to the pickup point safely and in one piece.
-
Enter the CSD through the Harvard Way driveway (Law Enforcement will move the road block back to this point.)
-
Parents will not park at the CSD
-
Parents will drive through the loop that goes from Harvard Way and exits on St. Andrews Dr. You can call your student and pick them up by the ball fields.
-
Exit the CSD via St. Andrews Dr.
